Viva BathPC!
Many moons ago, a good friend of mine developed BathPC.
This beast was craftily constructed by a mad scientist using the latest in technology - a PC and CRT monitor strapped to a chair with wheels, waterproof keyboards and mice, and 20 or so metres of coax network cabling. The waterproofing was no less than top-notch bubble wrap and duct tape. Real classy stuff
The whole contraption was was wheeled into the bathroom, as the name implies, for the purposes of IRC’ing from a nice warm bath. Either that or world domination. We still haven’t worked out which one it was.
The biggest problem with this setup was the frequent fatalities experienced by the input devices due to unexpected consumption of H2O.
It was not a good sight, humble reader. Many a mouse was sacrificed in the name of communicating while bathing, to the point where the number of dead mouse carcasses spread around the house became disturbingly high, bubble wrap and duct tape was everywhere, and the project was scrapped.
So many poor cheap mice might have been saved and I would like to think BathPC would still be alive if only a product such as this was available back in the day.
Viva BathPC!
